DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 5: A one-day seminar on “Recent Trends in Environmental Science” was held at ICFAI University Sovima, Dimapur on Wednesday.
Delivering keynote address, Academic Dean, Science & Computer Science, Patkai Christian College, Angel Sonari emphasized on concerns for environment in the process of development. She called for environmentally responsible development as untold damages to the environment was being done while people try to bring in development. She called upon businessmen to incorporate business with sincere concern for environment.
In his inaugural address, Pro-Vice Chancellor ICFAI University Nagaland, Dr. C.P. Alexander said that the objective of the seminar was to invoke an inclination for a paradigm shift in thoughts, perspectives, policies and actions towards the living and non-living.
Vice Chancellor, ICFAI University Nagaland, Dr. (Col) VRK Prasad and Registrar ICFAI University Nagaland, Makhan Chetia also spoke during the programme.
Resource persons Dr. A. Wati Walling, Assistant Professor NIT Nagaland; Dr. Thepfuvilie Pieru Assistant Professor Patkai Christian College; Rokovisa Chase member Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency (NBDA); Kichung Phom member NBDA and Oinam Bhopen Singh Senior Lecturer ICFAI University Nagaland spoke on various topics during the seminar.
