‘Envision for concord existence through education’

Dimapur, January 17 (MExN): Eastern Region Khiamniungan Students Union (ERKSU) celebrated its 25th anniversary under the theme ‘Envision for concord existence through education’ from January 6 to 8 at Tsonniu village with the chief guest Daw Sandar Minn, member of Parliament Yangon Region.  

Speaking on the occasion, Sandar Minn said that students play a vital role in making the society function smoothly. While encouraging the student to bring good changes in the society, Sandar Minn said “Nagas are gifted in every field but due to lack of development somehow we are little bit behind others, no doubt we are never late if we work together and to pursue education is the prime priority.”  

Learning that Khiamniungan live in both India and Myanmar, Sandar applauded the students and the leaders present for knowing English and encouraged them not to neglect learning Myanmar language. Sandar Minn said that government has many schemes but to avail those schemes one has “to propose through your representatives.”  

The inaugural programme was chaired by A. Nathan and Kunniu Khiam. Short speeches were given by special guest Puchai PM General Secretary KTC and Y. Khomong President NSO and welcome address was given by L. Patun president ERKSU. Special song presented by Nokyen Shiu former Ehou keh Band Vocalist. The programme began with the invocation pray by pastor Lamnyah and benediction by pastor Pukha.
