Nagaland’s Prisons and Printing & Stationery Advisor, Er Kropol Vitsu today inspected the ongoing restoration works of the bridge between Jakhama-Viswema NH-2 in Kohima district.
Kohima Deputy Commissioner had restricted movement of Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMV) beyond 12 tonnes over the bridge located near E-service station Jakhama on National Highway-2 since May 30.
During the inspection, Er Vitsu expressed happiness that workers and site engineers of the contractor firm - Fortuner - were engaged on war-footing for restoration works. The contractor informed the advisor that the bridge would be restored within the next two-days until which, restrictions on movement of HMV beyond 12 tonnes would continue.
Earlier on June 1, Er Vitsu also called on the General Manager of National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), Gajendra Singh Rana and expressed concern on the dilapidated condition of the bridge and also the Kohima-Mao road.
