Longleng, February 1 (DIPR): The Election Expenditure Observer for Longleng district, Vivekanand Rai, IRS held a consultative meeting with the leaders of the various teams and committees under the Election Expenditure Monitoring Cell on February 1 at DC conference hall Longleng.
The Expenditure Observer, Vivekanand Rai, IRS briefing on the role and responsibility of the various teams and committees, asserted that the main focus of the Expenditure Monitoring cell is to provide transparency and accountability of the candidates’ expenditure during elections for clean and fair election. He appealed to all the members to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and dedication.
Earlier, the DC and DEO Longleng, John Tsulise Sangtam welcomed the Expenditure Observer and the members present and briefed on the purpose of the meeting with the Expenditure Observer. He appealed to the team leaders to discharge their respective election duties with responsibility and sincerity to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections in the district. He also urged the members to have close coordination with the observer and seek his advice and guidance relating to expenditure of the candidates.
Holikhum Sangtam Nodal Officer for Expenditure Monitoring cell review and briefed on the activities and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to be maintained and performed by various committees and teams under the expenditure monitoring cell. The briefing concluded with interaction and clarification of doubts from the observer and nodal officer. The meeting also proposed to conduct the final briefing on election expenditure after the final date of withdrawal by the candidates.
