Essay and slogan writing competition held in Wokha

Wokha, April 5 (MExN): As part of SVEEP (Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation) activities under Wokha district, and in view of the forthcoming General Election to Lok Sabha 2024, an essay and slogan writing competition was held at Libemo Memorial School, Wokha on April 5.

The competition was held on two categories, High School and Higher Secondary with around 35 student participants, stated a DIPR report. 

SDO (C) and Nodal Officer (SVEEP) Wokha, Nuhuta Tunyi, addressing the students said, SVEEP activities are conducted to educate and spread voters awareness and promote voters literacy. SVEEP is also a multi- intervention programme which aims to reach out to the people through different modes and media to educate citizens, electors and voters about the electoral process in order to increase their level of awareness and promote their informed participation during election, he stated.

Tunyi also informed that such kind of activities involving all the schools within Wokha town will be conducted soon. He also thanked the students for actively participating in the event.
