The Soyim Gazatted Officers' Association and the Soyim Shisaluyimer Telongjem, Ungma, jointly organised an essay competition for young scholars from Ungma Village and the results of the competition was declared on May 01 at Babu Tzubu Amphitheatre at Ungma Village, Mokokchung.
The essay competition was held on the topic ‘My vision of Ungma by 2040’ with the aim to encourage the younger generation to prepare for a better future and to have a bigger vision for the village. Sentiyanger Jamir was declared the winner and won a cash prize of thirty thousand followed by Katimong and Zulutemla in the second and third place winning twenty and ten thousand respectively with certificates.
A short exhortation was given by the Ungma Village Council chairman and the results and critical appraisal of the competition was given by Dr. Temjensosang, Asst. Prof, who was one among three other judges.
