Mokokchung, August 7 (MexN): The Emporium Training & Consultancy Pvt Ltd (ETCPL) signed an MoU with the Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (Ao Students' Conference) for a period of 5 years at the AKM Office, Mokokchung.

This innovatory initiative was taken identifying the needs of the youth, both educationally qualified and drop-outs for skill development and job placement and a move to pave ways for the youth.

Emporium Training and Consulatancy Private Limited is a vocational training institution registered under the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Tourism & Hospitality Sector Skill Council.

ETCPL is also accredited as a partner under the Skill India International Network (SIIN) under the National Skill Development Corporation. Through this initiative ETCPL is authorized to hire candidates for various organizations worldwide. The setting up of ETCPL in 2007 was triggered by the increasing demand for trained manpower for jobs created in various sectors like hospitality, aviation, cruise-lines etc.

Lanutoshi Aier, President, AKM pointed out that many youths, both educated and drop-outs, are left with no jobs or less avenues in Mokokchung and neighbouring places. He said many are not skilled while many are skilled but the available jobs do not compliment their skills and hence they are underpaid. "So, focusing on this problem, with the hope of reaching out to these sections of youths and to provide avenues to them, Ao Kaketshir Mungdang signed the MoU with The Emporium TCPL," he informed.

The AKM has scheduled a career guidance programme tentatively to be held in the month of September for the youths of Mokokchung.

Temjenkala Aier, CEO of Emporium TCPL while addressing the press expressed that it is honoured to be working with the apex students’ body. While lauding the many pioneering achievements of AKM, she mentioned that it is remarkable for the Ao Kaketshir Mungdang to be able to keep tradition and culture alive yet thriving with the fast advancing world.

She also mentioned that unemployment is both a challenge and an opportunity, and added that the emporium will equip youths with skills and provide job placement to give wings to their skills.

Anirban Mukherjee, Operations Manager, India & International – Emporium Skill Training Institute signed the MoU.

Besides giving a brief explaination on the emporium, he stated that owing to less opportunities and also for want of government jobs, many youths stay idle, only contributing to unemployment. He said the ideologies and timidness of parents to let their children explore overseas is a challenge and further stated that remunerative jobs that will benefit their skills are available overseas.

"Youths should be bold enough to step out and explore because the salary one will get for the same work in the state and overseas will have an ocean’s difference," he said. He mentioned that one challenge that he has seen the youths face is the problem of getting an Indian passport. It is what hinders one from exploring the world for better jobs, he stated, and urged that every Indian student must possess an Indian passport.

So far, the emporium has provided job placement to 200 Naga youths across the globe.
