EUUN appeals for tax exemption

Dimapur, August 5 (MExN): The Educated Unemployed Union Nagaland (EUUN) has made an appeal to various national workers of the NSCN and other factions “not to collect tax from the members of the Union who have recently started self-employment units by taking loans and have not reached one year.”

While making the appeal, EUUN president Achilo Thong in a press release stated that “they have invested and sown the seeds just now at a risk and it takes time for yet sprouted plants to bloom and yield new fruit for a harvest”. Therefore, the Union implored, “the collective wisdoms of national workers must consider these new entrepreneurs and exempt them from paying tax enabling them to smoothly and gradually grow strong”.

The president also added that “in the beginning paying house rent and salary is also a heavy burden. Otherwise, the circumstances will compel them to close down their establishment and once again become educated unemployed.”
