The Educated Unemployed Union of Nagaland (EUUN) today announced that it would soon submit a memorandum to Governor of Nagaland, depicting various problems faced by educated unemployed youth in Nagaland for redressal of grievances.
“The EUUN shall continue to fight against injustice in matter relating to employment and self-employment. There is lack of transparency among the concerned departments in dealing with employment and self-employment of youth,” the Union acting president Achilo Thong and general secretary Vizovor Belho said in a release.
It also warned certain departments “not to misuse fund meant for self-employment of educated unemployed youth.”
All the vacancies of jobs in various categories arises in government departments must be advertised for open competition as permissible and stopped appointment through backdoor in order to select the best and provide quality service to public, the Union said adding that all the vacancies of posts must be reserved for indigenous local youth of Nagaland.
The EUUN shall not hesitate to expose or take befitting action against corruption which is hampering the good future of educated unemployed youth, it said.
“Some companies are extracting money from educated unemployed youth with the pretext to provide jobs,” the Union said adding that it shall take action against such companies “for cheating our people.”
Further, the Union appealed to all concerned departments, NGOs, public leaders and officials to co-operate with it in its struggle for the cause of educated unemployed youth.
