World Menopause Day observed at WSBAK Prayer Centre in Henivi village, on October 18.

Dimapur, October 19 (MExN): World Menopause Day was observed at the WSBAK Prayer Centre in Henivi village, on October 18, with a focus on raising awareness and fostering support for women.
The event, chaired by Khekatoli Kiba, Counsellor of the WSBAK Prayer Centre, with a keynote address by author and counsellor Alokali Zhimomi, stated a press release.
In her speech, Zhimomi, the author of ‘Menopause: Embracing your Midlife,’ underscored the importance of spreading awareness about menopause and highlighted the day's significance since its establishment by the International Menopause Society in 2009.
Citing the IMS White Paper (2025), she elaborated on the role of lifestyle medicine in managing menopausal health. Zhimomi also shared practical strategies for alleviating symptoms through healthy eating, physical activity, restorative sleep, and maintaining mental and relational wellbeing.
The programme provided a safe platform for 26 women participants to share personal experiences and seek clarifications during interactive breakout and question-and-answer sessions.
Sanitary napkins, courtesy of Dimapur 24/7, were distributed to all attendees. A copy of Zhimomi's book was also presented to a lucky winner.
The event was marked as a significant step in Nagaland's efforts to promote awareness, support, and inclusivity for women navigating menopause.
