‘Everyone, Everywhere- Health for All’ campaign in Dimapur

Dimapur, April 6 (MExN): The World Health Organization (WHO) campaign for Universal Health Coverage with the theme ‘Everyone, Everywhere- Health for All’ is being commemorated in educational institutions in Dimapur from April 6 in 10 under the aegis of Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research. 

The resource persons were Dr Antoly Suu, Dy. Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Rebecca Zhimomi, District Immunization Officer, Dr Atsung Aier, Head of, Community Health Department, Dr Leishiwon Kumrah, Head of Dermatology Dept, Dr Christy Simpson, Principal College of Nursing and other faculty members of CIHSR.

During the programme, students and faculty of the institutions were informed by the resource persons that all individuals and communities can get essential quality health services from health promotion to Prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and palliative care. They stressed that Health is a Human right and that no one should have to choose between good health and other life necessities and that universal health coverage is a key to people and nation’s health and well being. They added that everyone, everywhere from individuals to communities, cities, health professionals, civil society organizations, media and governments can play a part in the part to universal health coverage by joining this campaign.

Student Nurses Association of CIHSR performed drama depicting behaviors that may have a positive and negative impact on individual and others health. The campaign also displayed important World Health Day Banners and posters in different locations of Dimapur and distributed Pamphlets in different Banks. Health awareness and Eye screening was also done among few women in Master Colony, Kuda village. 

CIHSR in a press release stated that the campaign was made possible through the collaboration of the Dimapur Municipal Corporation, Principals of the Institutions and Pharmaceutical companies namely K. Lifeline Surgicals, Medicine Distributors, Medico, Aarogya Enterprise and Indo Foreign Surgico.
