Kohima, May 16 (DIPR): The State College of Teacher Education (SCTE) Evolve Fitness Studio & Certificate Course in Physical Education under vocationalisation of Higher Education was inaugurated on May 16 at SCET, Kohima.
Director of Higher Education, Kuholi Chishi congratulated the SCET for coming up with such a noble idea and stated that the development which has come through RUSA, a first of its kind in taking a project on physical education, is a different choice and well chosen. Maintaining that one needs to be fit and teachers definitely need fitness, she encouraged the principal, faculty, staff and students to love what they do and take up the initiative very passionately to expand. She further said that the project can generate its own income and even outsource it.
Lamenting that Nagas in general are not good stewards, she urged that as educated people one must learn to be good stewards of what is received from the authorities and take care of the facilities, buildings and equipments. Since the Ministry of Human Resource Department has funded the project, she requested the SCET fraternity to ensure that the facilities, equipments are made use of and maintained properly.
State Project Director, RUSA, Menuokholie Kire said the project is a Rashtra flagship programme of Government of India, which was inducted in 2014 in Nagaland and is covering 15 Government Colleges including the ongoing project in Wakching for the Science course hostel. He appealed to the students to change their mindset of destroying government property and take care of the facilities and make the best use of the course. He further urged the faculty, staff and students to generate resource that is given to them.
