Kiphire, Dec 22 (MExN): Former MLA of Nagaland Legislative Assembly R.L. Akamba has spoken out against the total misuse and mismanagement of schemes of Local Area Development Fund (LADF), Border Area Development Fund, Under Developed Area Fund and Backward Area Development Fund against 2003-04 and 2004-05 under 60 A/C Pungro-Kiphire ‘which have been approved and entire sanctioned amount has been drawn and cross-misutilisation of public fund fro the office of the Deputy Commissioner Kiphire and the Director of Department of Under Developed Area (DUDA) Kohima.’
However, sanctions could not be executed as ‘no work order’ has been issued till date to any beneficiaries, village councils, VDB’s or contractors.
A press statement issued by Akamba who is also the recipient of 21st Century Excellency Awardee has appealed all the MLA’s and responsible officers to work for the public welfare instead of hobnobbing hand and hand together for stealing the public welfare fund, cautioning that the ‘unlimited corruption could lead the concerned officers to stand on inappropriate platforms to answer the charges’.
The release further appealed to the Deputy Commissioner Kiphire and the Director, DUDA Kohima issue work orders and payment to respective VDB/VCC/beneficiaries and contractors to execute the right scheme against 2005-06 instead of handing over to local MLA.
“Failing to comply in 2005-06 schemes will inherit the biggest problem on their head and the public of Pungro-Kiphire 60 A/C being robbed of their rightful fund will forget the particular officers in their life”, maintained the former MLA in the press statement.
