KOHIMA, JULY 5 (MExN): Former minister and NDPP leader, Dr Neikiesalie Nicky Kire on Friday encouraged the party's candidates not to lose heart despite their lack of success in the recent urban local bodies (ULB) election in Nagaland.
Speaking at a thanksgiving program organized by Tosovi Tase, the NDPP candidate from Ward 14, on July 3 at Kisama, Kire noted that despite losing the election, Tase held the event to thank his supporters, a press release issued by Media Cell, NDPP Ward 14 stated.
Despite the loss, Kire urged party members to continue serving the community, emphasizing the party's motto "Deeds not words" and the importance of Christian principles in guiding their actions.
Kire shared his own experience of losing an election previously and encouraged the unsuccessful candidates to look to God for guidance and purpose.
Tase, meanwhile, acknowledged his supporters' hard work and sacrifice during the election and congratulated the winning candidate. He assured to continue serving his community in whatever capacity he could and assured his supporters that his doors are always open to them.
The NDPP party had an impressive overall performance in the election across the state. In the election for the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC), 8 out of 13 NDPP candidates won, including 5 who were declared elected unopposed.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio's message was conveyed by Kire, urging party members to continue their community service and work together for the betterment of the community.
