Kohima | October 22 : Excel United today entered the semi finals after overpowering Life Sports FC in the quarter finals of the ongoing 12th NSF Martyrs Memorial Trophy 2011 here at the Kohima Local Ground.
Chumbenthung Kikon opened the account for Excel United in the 37th minute and the team took the lead 1-0 till the first half.
Akang of Life Sports FC converted the spot kick into goal in the 64th minute and the match witnessed 1-1 draw.
Kethozapu inked a winning goal for Excel United in the 90 minute.
With today’s win, Excel United will clash now with Saku’s Mission College, Dimapur in the Ist semi finals on October 26 at 2:00 PM.
Menuosietuo Tsiekha, DPO Longleng acted as the match patron today.
Earlier, organizing committee defeated Naga Students’ Federation 5-1 in the exhibition match.
