Dimapur, June 28 (MExN): On June 27 around 5:40 am, the Excise Narcotic Cell enforcement duty party led by AIE Nokcha during routine checking (MVCP) in the Highway around Burma Camp area, Dimapur intercepted a three wheeler goods vehicle bearing regd no.NL07AA-1559. Katoho Sumi, Dy Commissioner of Excise (NC) Nagaland in a press release stated that upon checking the vehicle, 720 cans of contraband beer were found. The driver of the vehicle, Sanjay, resident of Lahorijan, Assam was arrested and brought to the Excise Narcotic Cell Office for further investigation along with the seized contraband and the vehicle, the release stated. The seized items were deposited in the Office Malkhana and the case is presently under investigation as per the relevant provisions of the NLTP Act 1989, it added.
