Dimapur, November 16 (MExN): The Nagaland Foothill Road Co-ordination Committee (NFHRCC) urged the State Government and the Public Works Department (Roads & Bridges) to execute the Foothills Road Construction immediately, as the ‘working season is running out.’
“Inviting delays in the execution of this people’s project will be a very costly affair, and the Committee will view it very seriously,” it cautioned in a press release.
The release further asserted that festivities should not surpass developmental activities, which are crucial for the overall economic development of the State.
The NFHRCC pointed out that after struggling for 11 years, the project was included under the SASCI (Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment) through the initiative of both the State Government and the Committee.
According to it, there are no reasons to delay the execution of the “people’s project.”
The NFHRCC also “made it very clear” that if any issues are created by any person, union or organisation regarding the project, it urged the Government or the concerned department to forward the matter to the Committee.
“The Committee is well prepared to handle problems of any magnitude as far as this historic project is concerned,” stated the press release, signed by NFHRCC Convenor Supu Jamir, General Secretary W Lemba Chang, Co-Convenor Hokiyei Yepthomi, and Assistant General Secretary Chenithung Humtsoe.
