Exempt educational institute vehicles from election duty: appeals ANCSU

Kohima, April 8 (MExN): The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) today appealed the Chief Secretary Nagaland to exempt the educational institute vehicles from election duty during Lok Sabha polls.

It appealed all the district administration and the police department of Nagaland to exempt and promptly release both private and institution-owned vehicles currently fulfilling duties within schools and colleges from requisition for election duty. The Union highlighted the potential disruption to the smooth transportation of students, particularly during the ongoing internal examinations and with the forthcoming external examinations on the horizon.

“The continuous availability of transportation services within educational institutions is paramount to ensure the unimpeded academic progress of students. Any diversion of vehicles for election duty could severely hamper this essential function and negatively impact the educational pursuits of countless students across the state,” stated ANCSU President, Tenyesinlo Bukh and Assistant General Secretary, Kevinoka A Sema in the appeal letter addressed to Chief Secretary Nagaland.

“By granting exemption to educational institutions' vehicles from election duty, you would alleviate the potential transportation challenges faced by students during this crucial period,” it stated while appealing the Chief Secretary to intervene swiftly and take necessary action to address the matter.
