DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 27 (MExN): With the objective to promote better relatioship and peaceful co-existence between the neighbouring states of Assam and Nagaland, an exhibition football match between Dimapur District Veteran Football Association and Golaghat District Sports Association was played at DDSC Stadium on September 27.
Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Sushil Kumar Patel (IAS) who graced the event as special guest, expressed gratitude to both the teams for coming together with a common cause of fostering healthy relationship as immediate neighbours through Sports, terming it as sports diplomacy.
The DC also informed of his plan for meeting with the Deputy Commissioner Gologhat, so as to discuss about organising 2-day sports event between the two districts of Nagaland and Assam for further strengthening the neighbouring relations.
After an exciting 90 match, Dimapur District Veteran Football Association emerged as the winners by scoring 3 goals to 2 against the Golaghat District Sports Association. The exhibition match was organised by the DDVFA.
