Expedite construction of foothill road via NEC funding: NFHRCC

DIMAPUR, APRIL 29 (MExN): The Nagaland Foothill Road Co-ordination Committee (NFHRCC) has once again urged the Nagaland state government to expedite pursuance of its earlier Assembly Resolution adopted on September 22, 2022 to construct the foothill road through North Eastern Council (NEC) funding.

As per the resolutions made during a meeting convened on April 29, the NFHRCC appealed the PWD (Road & Bridges) department to provide the ongoing division wise technical progress and performance based bill release status as well as to display it on public domain at the earliest as monsoon season is fast approaching.

The committee also reiterated its original pledge and resolutions made by the Naga civil society organizations not to pay any land compensation or taxes to any groups or individual since the mission is for the common welfare of the people of Nagaland.

It also resolved to give a written reply to all group/individual who had sought “certain clarifications” from the NFHRCC.

Further, a joint meeting of the NFHRCC, the PWD (R&B) department, the office bearers of the Dimapur based Tribal Hohos and the contractor firms has been called on May 13 at 10 am at Kher Mahal, Dimapur to deliberate on the motor-able road progression.
