Expel illegal immigrants now: BJYM

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 20 (MExN): The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha Dimapur District has drawn the attention of the concerned authorities on the huge influx of illegal immigrants from across the Bangladesh border, causing “social, cultural, political and geographical damage” where Nagaland is no exception.

“These aliens are available at cheaper rates as compared to Indian labours leading to the latter’s replacement,” a release stated.

“The BJYM (Dimapur Dist) appreciates the Nagaland police, administration, NGOs for their ongoing drive against infiltrators. Many of them are arrested daily but most of them are released as well on grounds that they possess Indian citizenship documents procured by them illegally.”

Authorities have been appealed to strictly verify the authenticity of citizenship. “These aliens have penetrated even to the remote areas of the state and if this penetration is not arrested, the indigenous people of the state will be reduced to the minority in future.”

“Bangladesh…a country which was liberated from Pakistan in 1971 with the help of our Indian jawans, instead of being grateful to us is causing a problem of great concern by vomiting these unwanted immigrants into our country.”

The BJYM has urged the government that the process of “detecting, deleting and finally expelling these aliens should be accelerated.”

“The international boundary should be made more secure by erecting physical barriers, barbed wires, walls and fencing at appropriate places. These infiltrators should not be appeased with poltical rights by enrolling them in the voters list by any political parties or individuals.”

“The political leaders as well as the officials who govern the land are fully aware of this hard reality of infiltration but ironically they have closed eyes on the issue due t the expediency of vote bank policies. But beneath lies the hard reality about the consequences when these aliens will administer and govern the land soon if they are not pushed back.”

All concerned citizens have been urged to take the matter seriously “and expulsion of illegal immigrants should be carried through organizations, NGOs, student bodies and law keeping agencies before the tip of time runs out of control.”
