Doing away with the regular Hornbill International Rock Contest, a part of the annual Hornbill Festival, the state government has come up with a new tagline ‘experiential Hornbill Music Festival (HMF) for the same sans any competition but with diverse line up of musicians and performers locally, nationally and internationally.
The organizers have assured the public of music for fans of every genre and added that they have emphasized on being inclusive and diverse to let the world know that it truly reflects what it takes to be India’s biggest music festival.
Addressing media persons in Dimapur on Tuesday, LiveNow Events, which is managing the HMF, informed that the event envisages promoting all musicians, music producers, technicians and event managers.
Although, the event would not have any official music competition, yet it would facilitate a solo (with guitar) competition to be sponsored by EPIPHONE on December 6. This particular competition would be open to all.
During the 10-day festival, visitors would also have the choice of watching the event or take a tour around the city on Hot Air Balloons rides providing a 360-degree view.
Taking into account the ongoing road construction frequently causing traffic snarls, the event managers have also urged upon the public to tie up with public transport services such as Scooty taxis in town to avoid missing out or reaching late for the shows.
Meanwhile, the managers have also assured the public of a safe and fun event with all logistics and security measures to be put in place including private securities in the interest of the visitors.
The HMF will take place at NER Agri Expo site, 4th Mile, Dimapur from December 1 to 10.
