Natsami Village, January 8 (MExN): Advisor for Land Resources Department, G Ikuto Zhimomi has urged students to embrace change and explore diverse career avenues and adapt to a rapidly changing world.

Addressing the 19th General Conference of the Eastern Nagaland Sumi Students' Union (ENSSU) at Natsami Village, Kiphire on January 7, he noted that traditional career paths, particularly government employment, are no longer the only options available to today’s youth.

Emphasising adaptability, Zhimomi called on students to remain flexible and forward-thinking in the face of continuous changes across sectors.

Highlighting emerging opportunities, he maintained that multiple avenues now exist for students and young people, and encouraged them to broaden their career outlook.

The Advisor also reminded aspirants to public service that recruitment into government jobs is now strictly merit-based through competitive examinations, with no scope for backdoor appointments or political recommendations.

Sharing insights into Nagaland’s employment and unemployment scenario, he underscored the importance of skill development and preparedness to meet present-day challenges.

The conference, organised by ENSSU, brought together students from across the region, with the Advisor’s address focusing on transparency, opportunity, and youth empowerment, informed a press release from the union.
