Exposing the truth we already know

This expose is for all the concerned Nagas and particularly the young generations that our thinking and perspective should be ahead of the present Naga society. If asked ‘why’ then the answer is simple, the system in our society is backward and more ‘stone age’ like.

When we sell our vote to a candidate for a few thousand rupees then eventually he’ll try to recover his capital period. The money he had spent to buy votes and more will be obviously financed back from the state fund which only means no better roads, public facilities, development for another five years. This is a simple logic and we need to start grasping reality if we really want to see a change.   When a bureaucrat “without an ounce of shame” tucks away public funds into his bank account, you see, that is not supposed to happen. The hours he had studied to get through the NPSC Prelim exam (and then backdoor appointment), the reward for his hard work is the 30k and annually increasing salary plus vehicles and other incentives.

We have a democratic government in our state and it is nothing more than a ‘social contract’ between the government and the citizens. Thus the citizens shall abide the law whereas the govt. officials would serve the citizens by the same. And nowhere in the constitution is it written for the government officials to take the public funds into their own pocket which is eminent on our state (like it’s their privilege because they have done the hard part, studying).

Today, in our fight against corruption, for underdevelopment of our state, we are not asking the govt. officials to develop Nagaland from their salary or even a single penny that belongs to them. We are asking them to give us only that which rightfully belongs to the people, nothing more. But since our system is ignorant because our elders were less educated to understand the procedures by which a govt. should function, even today we are letting corruption happen right under our nose.

Corruption is an overrated practice in the developed countries because they know that it only slows down their growth pace while other countries progresses further in the global scale. And since they are civilized and smart they only work hard to further develop their own country or state, preparing themselves from the mystery of the future. But it is not so in Nagaland. Our officials here tries to compete among each other in terms of their bank accounts and assets when they should be competing with say Assam, Sikkim and other states and do their part in progressing Nagaland ahead of the other states.

The ‘United States of America’ are trying to put man on Mars (the Planet) in the coming decades where as, well you all know where we are!   It is time to stop kidding around (because our life is not a joke) and start doing things systematically as per the constitution. So we appeal to the young people to no longer be a slave of our traditional ignorant system and strive for a rational society.
