Despite Nagaland being a Christian state, we see that there are so many negative incidents taking place in our land. The inhumane treatment of certain authorities exercising dominant power in certain areas is affecting the image of Nagaland as a Christian state. During this pandemic, the people should support and exercise love and unity among us as this is the need of the hour, however, the incidents where some people are using their power in the name of authority being discharged to them is disheartening. At this juncture of such incidents happening in our land, it is very sad to see that the public are controlled in a wrong way.
Because of the constant prayers and fasting taking place in our land, we see that God is taking care of this land. But we never know what the future holds for us; as this virus can affect anyone irrespective of religion or race. So let us continue to hold on to our faith and keep praying for one another in this time of distress and chaos.
The Bible clearly tells in the book of Proverbs that “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom”. So taking this platform I urge my fellow brothers and sisters to be God-centered and work accordingly. Let God lead us and in the wisdom that the Spirit gives us let us work in unity. As we are in lockdown and the government issuing certain orders to curb this pandemic, let us keep aside our differences and work together. I urge the public to obey the orders of the government since they are working for the public interest. However, on the other side, those who are given the powers of authority please see to it that no inhumane treatment are done to the violators. Instead of using violence, I urge the authorities to deal with it in a legal way that will teach the violators a lesson. As Helen Keller said, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much”; let us unite our hearts and fight this pandemic irrespective of beliefs, religion, race or culture. Let us work hand in hand and comply everything that is proven to be effective and good for everyone.
