Dimapur, September 24 (MExN): The Dimapur Police on September 24 apprehended two GPRN/NSCN cadres namely Khekuto Awomi (34 yrs) and (2) Kheto Awomi (38 yrs) from Khermahal area on charges of extortion.
On frisking, 12 Nos of trade license slip was recovered and seized from their possession. In this connection, a case has been registered at Dimapur West Police Station.
In another incident, Dimapur Police apprehended one person namely Ramji Yimchunger SS S.O of NSCN (IM) of Kuthur village, PO/PS- Tuensang, P/Add- Tenyphe village – II, while demanding Rs.7000 to Rs 8000 per shop as annual taxation of NSCN (IM) from business community at GS Road, Dimapur. Extortion slip and cash Rs.22,500 were recovered from his possession. In this connection, a case has been registered at Dimapur Sub-Urban Police Station. This was stated in a press release issued by Addl Dy Commissioner of Police/PRO, Dimapur.
