F& CS Dept bids farewell to Director Chubawati Chang

DIMAPUR, JULY 1 (MExN): The Department of Food and Civil Supplies, Government of Nagaland, held a farewell programme at its Directorate Conference Hall in Dimapur on June 30 to honour Chubawati Chang, Director of Food & Civil Supplies, on the occasion of his retirement. The event also recognised the retirement of other senior officials from the department.

The programme was graced by KT. Sukhalu, IAS (Retd), Advisor, Food & Civil Supplies, Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection, and Limawabang Jamir, IAS, Secretary, F&CS, LM&CP. Officers and staff from various districts and the directorate attended the event, which featured speeches, reflections, and words of appreciation.

Deputy Director K. Mhonthung chaired the programme, while the invocation was delivered by Neiphrenuo Sanchu, UDA, Directorate of F&CS.

In his farewell address, Chubawati Chang reflected on his 35 years in government service, beginning as an Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) and culminating as Director and Additional Secretary. He thanked his colleagues and expressed gratitude to God for granting him good health and strength throughout his career.

Speaking at the event, Sukhalu encouraged the retiring officers to view retirement as a new chapter. He urged them to embrace the future with faith and optimism.

Secretary Limawabang Jamir commended the leadership of Chang, noting that under his tenure the department received a national award for “Commendation for Successful Implementation of PDS Supply Chain Optimization.”

Additional Director I. Anungba Sanglir also acknowledged the contributions of the outgoing Director, citing key initiatives such as the Price Stabilization Fund (PSF) and Route Optimization under the National Food Security Act (NFSA).

The event concluded with closing remarks by the chair and a benediction by Sokentsing Kent, Assistant Superintendent of Supply.
