Kohima, August 28 (MExN): F1 Sim Racing India Open Time Trials and displays of indigenous technology and innovations drew crowds on the opening day of TXG Expo Nagaland 2026 at the NBCC Convention Centre in Kohima on August 28.
Professional-grade Formula 1 racing simulators were set up at the expo, allowing visitors to participate in the F1 Sim Racing India Open Time Trials free of cost.
Enthusiasts can also register for the ongoing F1 Sim Racing India Open by paying the prescribed fee. Participants achieving the qualifying time will advance to the regional-level competition, with successful racers progressing to the national championship in junior and senior categories.
The F1 Sim Racing booth attracted students and racing enthusiasts who gathered to experience the simulators and test their driving skills.
The championship is organised by Mumbai Falcons Racing Ltd, an Indian motorsport team that has participated in racing competitions internationally.
The F1 Sim Racing India Open will continue at the expo in Kohima till August 29, providing more enthusiasts an opportunity to participate in the competition and experience competitive sim racing.
The inaugural day of the expo also featured indigenous technologies and innovations, including drones, robotics and creative-learning solutions.
The Nagaland GIS and Remote Sensing Centre under the Department of Planning and Transformation showcased drones designed and assembled by the centre.
Among the exhibits was a hexacopter drone used for vaccine delivery during the COVID-19 pandemic. The stall also displayed FPV drones and a replica interceptor drone and conducted live demonstrations of drone operations.
The NagaBots stall also attracted visitors with technology-based products and innovations, including a robotic arm demonstrating sketching, drones, creative-learning toy kits and 3D-printed keychains and other accessories.
Established in 2021, NagaBots is a technology and research enterprise specialising in robotics and coding. It provides training and education, research and innovation, incubation support through the NagaBots Incubation Centre and electronics supply solutions, its representative said.
NagaBots also organises its annual flagship event, Techmorphosis, aimed at promoting innovation and creativity in technology. The enterprise has trained more than 5,000 students across various schools in practical STEM skills.
