‘Fabric Plus’, a Guwahati-based garment manufacturing firm in collaboration with ‘Runway Nagaland’, organized a buyers’ and sellers’ meet and fashion show here at Hotel Acacia on Saturday.
Jayanta Thakuria from Fabric Plus said the objective of the meet–cum-fashion show was to link the gap between manufacturers, sellers and buyers of textile products of the North East Region.
Thakuria said Fabric Plus manufactures garments including wrapper, stole, shawl, bed throw and other garments using exclusively erie and muga silk. He said Fabric Plus produces 150 metric tonnes of erie silk annually and impacts some 40,000 people including providing livelihood to silk farmers of the North East.
Proprietor, Runway Nagaland, Nengneithem Hengna, said Runway Nagaland is mainly focused on promotion of handloom and handmade products of Nagaland.
Customers of Nagaland can now avail Fabric Plus products from Runway Nagaland.
