MOKOKCHUNG, SEPTEMBER 7 (MExN): Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung celebrated its 65 foundation day at the college auditorium on September 7 with Deputy Commissioner, Thsuvisie Phoji as the guest of honour. Meritorious students for the academic year 2024 were also felicitated at the function.
Guest of honour, Thsuvisie Phoji, Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, in his speech said that Fazl Ali College has produced so many personalities and congratulate FAC led by the principal for having so many faculty and staff and students excelling in their own departments.
He congratulated the meritorious awardees and said that their recognition speaks volume of their sincerity and dedication. He encouraged the students to keep up the spirit of competitiveness and take the award as an example where you should also have a vision to achieve a dream to achieve.
The DC also said that a lot of avenues awaits all students be it science, arts or commerce stream and added that each and everyone can have their own place provided one continues to pursue one’s dreams with sincerity and dedication.
Principal, FAC, I Wati Imchen, in his foundation day speech, presented a summary of the achievements and development and growth achieved in a year by the college. He mentioned the growth in the field of academic achieved by students and also the various achievements by the faculty members.
He also informed about the infrastructural developments in the college and the various international and national events hosted and organised in the college.
FAC vice-principal, LS Vinod Kumar, in his welcome address, said that the foundation day was a time to reflect on the beginnings and how changes have taken over the years. He said that when celebrating the foundation day we should not miss thanking the pioneers who had great visions to impart great education to the people and how their dedication has paved the light for their visionary approach.
He said the college has achieved greater heights and bigger dimensions and should strive to become a centre of excellence.
The programme was chaired by Imlinungla, Asst Prof & HoD, Department of Zoology, FAC. The Drama Club and Music Club presented a play and a song respectively while Rev Lima Lemdur, Pastor, Union Church, FAC, pronounced the prayer for the college.
