DIMAPUR, JULY 9 (MExN): A four-day faculty induction programme was held at St. Joseph University from July 4-7 with the aim to bridge the gap of research quality and teaching skills. 

A press release issued by the university informed that the program covered a wide range of topics, from research and outcome-based education to the role of a professional educator and leadership. The resource persons included professors, directors, and staff from the university, as well as an expert from Nigeria. 

They included Prof Sanjay Sharma, Principal, Dimapur Govt. College; Dr TS Pandian, Associate Professor, Modern Institute of Teacher Education; Rev Dr Joseph Mariadhas, Director, Shalom Rehabilitation Centre, Chumukedima; Rev Fr Dr JE Arul Raj, Chancellor, SJU; Dr Landson Thindwa, Professor from Nigeria; Rev Sr Thianes Mary, Deputy Registrar; Dr K Sethupathy, Registrar; Prof Charles Mhonthung Ezung, Dean of Student Affairs; and Dr Kinitoli H Yeptho, Dean of Academics. Around 130 faculty members attended the program.

The programme was designed to help the faculty members’ transition into their roles at the university and provide them with the knowledge and skills they need to be successful. The faculty induction programme is just one example of the many ways that St. Joseph University is committed to providing its faculty members with the resources and support they need to succeed, the press release stated.
