‘Faith in Action’ is once again all set to put Nagaland in the entertainment map of the country. This group of ten young Taekwondo exponents has made it to the first voting round of ‘Colors’ highly rated reality talent show - ‘India’s Got Talent’ season 3. They were also in the news back in 2009 when they won at Sony Entertainment’s - ‘Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega’.
The group comprising of Husheto Zhimomi, Toluho Yeptho, Bohoto Achumi, Tokito Chishi, Inau Singha, Lungshai Phom, Lokivi Aye, Kiniho Khujumi, Sanjay Chetri and Abdus Shahid will be leaving for Mumbai Friday for taping of the quarter-final round. They are all aged seventeen to twebty-four.
Interacting with the local media prior to the departure on Thursday, Faith in Action appealed for support of the people of Nagaland during the SMS voting round. “We’re representing Nagaland and Nagaland is representing the north east,” said one of the members, while calling upon the people of the region for support. “Because it is a sports ministry based on faith, we want to glorify Jesus,” he said.
Their art is founded on Taekwondo, however they said that what they are displaying is a form of mixed martial art brilliantly choreographed to the accompaniment of music.
Instructor Deep Kumar, said that the group had first auditioned for the show in Guwahati on May 15 last. They got selected and had another opportunity to audition at an all-India level at Kolkata during June 21-23, where they also got through. Following the auditions, they were called for a screening test at Mumbai where there were 200 groups in total from across the country. They made it to the top-48 getting automatic entry to the quarter final round which will be televised. Only 48 groups were selected from the screening test, Kumar said, while adding that they are the only martial art group who got selected.
The winner of the show will pocket a cash prize of Rs. 50 lakh. Taping of the quarter final round will begin from August 24 till the 31st.
