
Dimapur, September 4 (MExN): Main accused in the June 8 “Fake certificates racket” case, Kiyeto Zhimomi alias Kits Zhimomi, managed to escape from the clutches of the police when a police team conducted a raid at a place in the 6th Mile area on Thursday, September 3. The Additional SP, Dimapur, VZ Angami briefing media persons at the East police station said that the raiding team was, however, able to arrest one of his accomplices, Vikheto alias Vikato, said to be the number two most wanted man after Kiyeto Zhimomi in the case. The arrested and the main accused Kiyeto Zhimomi were together during the raid it is learned.
According to the ASP Vikheto alias Vikato has been absconding since June 14, 2009, when police based on specific information raided his residence in Chumukedima, near police central store. However, he could not be arrested during the raid as he was found absconding to evade arrest it is learned. The raid led to the recovery of two Mahindra Boleros (stolen), 21 vehicle registration number plates (fake), keys and twenty rounds of .303 rifles from his residence.
It is learned that the next day on June 15, police received an ‘Anticipatory Bail’ in favour of the absconding person which was later revoked by the concerned court. Since then the police was on the hunt for the accused and could eventually nab him from the 6th Mile area on September 3.
Meanwhile, the police have announced a handsome reward to any person or persons, who could provide information leading to the arrest of Kiyeto Zhimomi alias Kits Zhimomi.
