ANCSU flays hoax messages; demands action 

 

Lumami, April 28 (MExN): The Nagaland University (NU) today informed the students and the general public that a “fake Undergraduate 6th Semester Examination Routine 2020 (dated 27.04.2020) is being circulated through social media such WhatsApp.”

 

The university has not issued any such notification, clarified a statement issued by NU on April 28.

 

It further requested all concerned “not to be misled by the fake notification.”

 

The NU will officially notify the examination routine on its website as and when the situation permits, it added.

 

All the educational institutions in Nagaland have been closed since the middle of March as a measure to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.  

 

ANCSU demands action

Meanwhile, the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) strongly condemned the perpetrator(s) for circulating “fake under Graduate Exam Routine in the name of Nagaland University which has severely disturbed the entire college fraternity.”

 

The ANCSU upon confirmation from the Registrar, Nagaland University (NU) “is made to understand that no revised/new UG Exam routine has been issued by the NU as circulated in various social media platforms,” the union stated in a press release.  

 

At a time when the situation is unfavorable to everyone, targeting the students’ community with such invidious intention is highly condemnable and deserves befitting punishment under relevant law, added the release issued by ANCSU President, Vimeyiekho Vitso and General Secretary, Imnameren N Jamir.

 

The ANCSU appealled the law enforcing agencies to immediately book the culprits and further appealed the students’ community to be vigilant of such hoax messages.
