Farm Schools inaugurated in Jalukie B, Longkhim

Peren, August 17 (MExN): ATMA Peren, Jalukie block inaugurated a Farm School at Jalukie B on August 16 and also conducted training cum demonstration on jalkhund water harvesting. Though the region receives high rainfall, lack of proper rainwater harvesting structures together with lack of suitable soil and water conservation methods lead to water scarcity during the dry season which impacts the farming community, stated a press release received here. Resource person Akam Zeliang, Deputy PD, ATMA Peren demonstrated on the methods of making the jalkhund. Meanwhile, Hanggau was appointed as the Farm School Teacher.  

ATMA Tuensang, Longkhim Block also inaugurated Farm School on Water Harvesting under PMKSY at Yangli mission compound on August 16. Demonstration on water harvesting, water conservation and pond management was also conducted by Moatemsu ATM. Altogether, 31 farmers attended the programme.
