Tseminyu, June 9 (MExN): A farmer to farmer technology dissemination programme between farmers of Wokha and Tseminyu block organized by ATMA Wokha in collaboration with BTT Tseminyu was held on June 8 at Town Hall Tseminyu.
Dr. Mhonchan Shitiri PD highlighting on the meet, said that it was organized to create a platform for the farmers of the two districts to exchange their knowledge, ITKs and agricultural practices so as to enhance their production and productivity. Viwehoto Thorie SDAO & BTT convenor in his short speech said that such a meet between farmers of two districts is first of its kind in the block and will help the farmers a lot. He encouraged the farmers to keep exchanging their ITKs in future also taking advantage of this first meet.
Dr. Vibeilie Keretsu BTM gave PICO presentation on Tseminyu block activities and Yanglen DPD gave presentation on behalf of ATMA Wokha.
In the round table exchange discussion farmers from both the districts freely share their experiences, knowledge and practices and found that most of the crops grown in Tseminyu and Wokha have similarities and so have scope for seed exchange and so decided to have such exchange program even at the individual farmer’s level in future.
