Farmers Advisory Committee meet held

Dimapur, August 9 (MExN): ATMA Dimapur district conducted a meeting for the District Farmers Advisory Committee on August 9 at ATMA training hall. The meeting was chaired by Janet Chishi, DPD.  

Tonikali Achumi, DPD highlighted and updated the members on the activities conducted by the agency for the year 2016-17 at block level. The members of the advisory committee shared their experiences at field level and suggested ways for improvisation of the activities at district level. Discussions on proper channeling of the marketing system were thoroughly deliberated.  

Project Director (ATMA) and Deputy Director K. Remphamo Lotha explained on the function of ATMA as transfer of technology from agri. and allied sectors and research centers to the farmers at village and block level.  

He also informed the members on the availability of farm machineries at subsidized rates in the department. He later encouraged the members to continue cooperating with ATMA for better implementation in the district.  

A press release from ATMA Dimapur stated that the members consisted of progressive farmers, farm school teachers and self help group members.
