Zunheboto, February 1 (MExN): Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nagaland University, Lumami conducted “Farmers Scientist Interaction” at Litta New Village, VK Town on January 28. Diseases and nutrient management of farm animals and poultry birds were discussed during the session which was sponsored by ATMA, Zunheboto District. Interactions were also made on plant diseases and pest infestations and its management. The scientists discussed the importance of locally abundant broom sticks to the economy and encouraged the SHGs to take initiatives for cultivating the same. The programme concluded with the distribution of HQPM maize seeds and Trichodermma for seeds and soil treatments. Dr. Visakho Shunyu SMS (GPB & Agronomy), Dr. Nongothung SMS (Animal Science) and Toshi Longkumer SMS (Plant Protection) were the resource persons for the programme. Altogether 20 farmers attended the programme, a press release received here informed.
