Tuensang, September 24 (MExN): Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tuensang organized a farmers’ scientist interaction programme on the thematic area, ‘vegetable crops and its cultivation technologies with special emphasis on rabi season under Tuensang climatic situation’ at KBCT on September 24. 

It was held with the aim to enhance the livelihood security in the district, Dr Pijush Kanti Biwas, Senior Scientist & Head KVK, Tuensang stated in a press release. 

The technical experts for the programme were Tokiho Achumi, Agronomist from KVK, Tuensang, Yanger I Kichu, MSc, Entomology from KVK Tuensang and Vinoka, DPD from ATMA. 

During the discussion, the farmers interacted with the experts on nursery management, different critical stages, how to tackle with disease and pest infestation and its scientific cultivation technologies. Various other queries were also solved during the programme. The experts encouraged the farmers to be proactive in applying the technology.

Altogether, 45 vegetable farmers, three panelist (experts), officials from fishery, ATMA, ECS and Agri & allied participated. The programme targeted the vegetable growers to help them imbibe with technical knowledge for self sufficiency in vegetable production. It was sponsored by Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Tuensang where biopesticides were distributed after the programme.
