Fat Circus and Avancer is all set to rock Dimapur on December 15. The two bands will headline a concert, which will also feature Akokla Imchen as a guest artist, at the Urban Haat.
Chairperson, Dorians Society (DS), Temjen Lemtur told a press conference today that the concert is being organised by the DS as a fund-raiser for its silver jubilee scheduled to be observed on December 29. Lemtur promised a lively evening in line with the festive mood and requested everyone to come and witness some of Nagaland’s finest musicians perform.
Fat Circus frontman, Wapong Ozukum said that their set list will contain some of the most well known classic hits which most people would know and hum along to.
Wapongmeren Longkumer, Convenor of the Jubilee Planning Committee said that the concert is part of a series of events commemorating the society’s 25 years of founding. To its credit, he said that the society have already organized a walkathon promoting fitness, a cyclothon and a spell bee in the lead up to the main celebration on December 29. He added that the Dorians Society was started by a group of likeminded young people and who are still going strong promoting its foundational values and vision centered on social activism, besides sports.
“Regarding the concert, we have one of the best musicians in Nagaland and there are still a lot of people who like classic rock,” he said, while informing that there will be a special discount for students attending the concert and raffle draw. “Students with valid ID will be given 50 percent discount on the entry ticket and there will be a raffle (lucky) draw of the concert tickets and the prize for the raffle winner will be a guitar,” he added. The venue will also have food stalls. The concert will start at 6:00pm.
