Fathers exhorted to live exemplary lives

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 25 (MExN): A two day Father’s retreat organized by Suruhuto Town Baptist Church, Aizuto, Zunheboto was held on February 22 and 23 under the theme ‘New Creation in Christ.’ Rev. Dr. Daniel Chishi, Pastor, Zunheboto Town Sumi Baptist Church (ZTSBC) was the main speaker of the event. 

A press statement issued by Bombo K Yeptho, media supervisor, ZTSBC said Rev Chishi during the retreat exhorted that a father’s life are the book before their family and society, and urged them to live an exemplary life and let other see Jesus in their life. The speaker also lamented that, at this juncture many “irresponsible fathers are being driven by so called modern amenities and other social evils and as a result many mothers become widows, children’s become fatherless and many families becoming ruined.”

He therefore called upon the gathering to overcome evil with good. Along with the speaker’s motivational messages, various activities such as Bible quiz, discoveries, counseling and singing were conducted.

Altogether 95 fathers attended the retreat. The pastoral staff and the deacon board members acknowledged all the home makers under STBC for shouldering their family's responsibilities by sending their spouse to the retreat.
