Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung celebrated its 66th Foundation Day at the college auditorium on September 8.

MOKOKCHUNG, SEPTEMBER 8 (MExN): Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung celebrated its 66th Foundation Day at the college auditorium on September 8.
The event commenced with a welcome address by the Chairperson, Lushian H, Assistant Professor of the Economics Department, followed by the rendition of the college anthem. The English Department's Drama Club presented a play adaptation of Shakespeare's 'Twelfth Night.'
In his Foundation Day address, the Principal, Dr I Wati Imchen outlined the institution's significant achievements from the past academic year. He said that the college produced 24 university toppers and highlighted key developments including the introduction of a B.Com course, a rise in science stream enrollment, notable faculty achievements, ongoing research projects, and the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with various institutions. He also outlined future goals for the upcoming sessions.
A felicitation ceremony for meritorious students was conducted by Dr Adangla Changkija, Convenor of the Awards Committee. Awards were presented to department toppers, the overall college topper, stream toppers, the 'Student of the Year', and achievers in various other fields.
The guest of honour, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, delivered the keynote speech. He praised the college's founding vision and urged students and faculty to uphold its legacy. Verma emphasized that true education extends beyond certificates and is about making meaningful contributions to society. He encouraged the college to become a centre of innovation, reminding attendees that Mokokchung, as a “land of pioneers,” has a responsibility to foster progress for the entire state.
The celebration also featured a special song performance by the Music Club. The programme concluded with a benediction by Akumtola Lemtor, Associate Pastor, Women, Union Church.
