A one-day career programme was organized by Career Counselling Cell, Fazl Ali College at the college auditorium on May 6 with Dr Yesan Sellan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Library and Information Science in Bishop Heber College, Tiruchirappalli as the resource person.
Prior to this Dr Yesan was Chief Librarian at South Asia Institute of Advanced Christian Studies (SAIACS), Bangalore. Dr Yesan Sellan, spoke on the importance of pursuing higher education and highlighted on the need to acquire employability skills. He emphasized on the hands- on- training courses relating to library and information science and its career prospects. He said that the role of libraries has changed in the recent times and demands are increasing. The programme was attended by 187 female and 122 male students along with teaching and non-teaching staff. The programme was sponsored by Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme, Mokokchung.
