Food Business Operators have been directed not to store any food items which do not have label information and without FSSAI license or registration certificate number.

KOHIMA, JUN 10 (MExN): The Food Safety Authority, Kohima Zone has informed all Food Business Operators (FBOs) not to store any food items which do not have label information and without FSSAI license or registration certificate number.
The traceability of such food products cannot be ascertained and therefore the FBOs who store and sell such food products will have to bear the responsibility if any complaint arises, stated a press release issued by Designated Officer (Food Safety), FSA Kohima Zone on Tuesday.
It also informed consumers to check the labels while purchasing food products such as the manufacturers address, manufacturing date, best before date, batch no., FSSAI license or registration certificate number etc. For any query or complaint with regard to food, one can approach the Food Safety section, Chief Medical Ofifcer’s Office, Kohima or mail concerns to foodsafetykma@gmail.com.
Additionally, the FSA has informed that a notice was served to all the RO Water Plant proprietors in and around Kohima town who have already complied and obtained FSSAI license. These concerned have been informed to comply and initiate with the labeling aspect.
