CHÜMOUKEDIMA, MAY 12 (MExN): The Gorkha Students' Union Chümoukedima district felicitated successful Gorkha HSLC and HSSLC Students on May 12 at Singrijan Village Council Hall.
Speaking at the programme, Jacob Sundas, GSUCD president appreciated the students for their hard work & highlighted the statistics of Gorkhas of Chümoukedima district.
John Thakuri, All Nagaland Gorkha Students' Union president exhorted the students to maintain consistency and dedication in their studies.
Guest of honour, Botovi Jimo, Senior Inspector, Statistics, in his speech, motivated the students to identify their strength and pursue it. Special invitee, Tezu Pardhan, Head GB Singrijan and Khopanala Village challenged the students as well as the parents present to preserve one's culture and identity in this fast-changing world.
Special guest of the event, Deepak Chettri, Media & Publicity Secretary, Gorkhaland State Demand National Committee Darjeeling highlighted the high rate of unemployment among the educated Gorkha youths of Nagaland. He encouraged the Gorkha students to be hardworking and choose their line of study that has a broad scope.
Altogether, 93 Gorkha HSLC & HSSLC students including toppers of the Gorkha community of Nagaland were felicitated along with the mementos of excellence. The sponsor for the Event was Sapna Dewan Rai and Botovi Jimo.
