
Dimapur, March 17 (MExN): An orientation course on fertilizer was organised at SASRD by the Fertilizer Association of India (FAI), eastern region Kolkata, in collaboration with School of Agricultural Sciences & Rural Development, NU: SASRD, Medziphema from March 15 to 16. SASRD students comprising B.Sc (Ag), M.Sc (Ag), and Ph.D participated in the programme, said K K Jha, associate professor at NU: SASRD in a press release.
The press release mentioned that resource persons were from diverse organisations with expertise in the fields of fertiliser production, marketing and management, who deliberated upon various issues pertaining to fertiliser scenario, its demand & supply, innovative techniques in plant nutrition management, integrated nutrient management, soils and crops of Nagaland, marketing and distribution of fertilizers, fertiliser imports, brand equity management, ports operation and soil health rejuvenation. Resource persons from leading fertiliser organisations of India included, Nagarjuna fertiliser corporation Ltd. (NFCL) Hyderabad, RCF Ltd. New Delhi, FAI, New Delhi, FAI, Eastern region, Kolkata, Tata chemicals Ltd, IFFCO etc. Resource persons for SASRD, ICAR as well state department of Agriculture, Govt. of Nagaland also deliberated on pertinent issues at the orientation course, it said.
The valedictory programme was organised on March 16 which was graced by Prof. N.S.Jamir, Pro-Vice Chancellor of NU: SASRD, Medziphema Campus with special guest Dr. S.P.Mohanty, Chief Marketing Manager, RCF, New Delhi.
