KOHIMA, April 13 (MExN): Engines roared and tires screeched as the Festival of Speed, presented by JK Tyre Motorsport, lit up the Thizama 4th Battalion NAP grounds on Saturday. The high-octane event, organized to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Nagaland Adventure & Motor Sports Association (NAMSA), drew motorsport fans for a day of adrenaline-fueled celebration.
The event opened with Neingulie Nakhro as the Master of Ceremonies. In his welcome address, NAMSA General Secretary Tovi Chophi lauded the growing motorsport culture in the state and thanked the audience for their continued support.

Hari Singh, Head of Operations at JK Tyres & Industries Limited, highlighted the company’s long-standing commitment to nurturing motorsports in India. “We are proud to support platforms like NAMSA that bring motorsport closer to communities and inspire youth across the region,” he stated.

NAMSA Advisor Kuputo Shohe led a felicitation ceremony, honouring individuals who have contributed to the growth of motorsports over the past 25 years. A musical interlude provided a brief yet lively break before Lhouvi Punyü delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to partners, participants, and the crowd.
The main attraction, however, remained the array of motorsport showcases—from precision drifting and stunt rides to high-speed demonstrations that had spectators on their feet.
