‘Few villages still resisting immunization in Peren’

Peren, October 18 (MExN): The District Task Force meeting on immunization was held at Conference Hall, Deputy Commissioner Office Peren on October 16. 


A press release issued by Pezanguno Celine Secü, District Media Officer, CMO Office Peren stated that the programme was chaired by Sentiwapang Aier, Deputy Commissioner Peren. Officials from Chief Medical Office, Police, Assam Rifles and DPRO attended the meeting. 


Dr M Nukshisangla Jamir, DPO, RCH/UIP highlighted in her presentation that are few villages who are still resisting immunization and thus needs more intensive awareness. She added that the village leaders play a very important role in disseminating awareness and called upon the District Administration and the other departments for the success of the program. 


She gave a power point presentation on activities under UIP program in the district - January 2019 till date, NID (IPPI), Introduction of Rota Virus Vaccine and Td vaccine, streamlining of Cold Chain System, Undertaking of Routine Immunization Microplanning, Involvement in Poshan Abhiyan Activities, Preparation for IMI 2019-2020, Findings during Monitoring visits and the way forward towards achieving 90% full immunization coverage in the district.


The meeting concluded with the chairman’s remark to identify those resisting villages and to find a way to reach out to them creating awareness to the village leaders and so also conducting awareness in the blocks.
