Dimapur, June 24 (MExN): The Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) has announced the appointment of four new functionaries following an Emergency Tatar Hoho held on June 19 at Thuvopisu village. The appointees include T. Nusori, appointed as Kilo Kilonser, and Tatar Nienu as Secretary (Tatar Hoho), FGN.
Tatar Vepazo Vero has been assigned as the Acting Midam Peyu, Chakesang Region, FGN, while Brigadier Verato Chizho has been deputed as Deputy Kilonser and appointed as Chaplee Kilonser, FGN, stated a press release from FGN Kedahge General (Retd) TM Rhakho.
According to the release, the Emergency Tatar Hoho meeting thoroughly “deliberated on issues and agendas pertaining to the Government” and “decided to expand the Ministry to enhance coordination and effectiveness across different branches, establishing better communication channels, and utilising every available Government machinery for effective functioning.”
Meanwhile, Kedahge Rhakho congratulated the appointees on their “newly assigned duties” and prayed for cooperation among the Naga populace so that “the long aspiration of our people be achieved soon.”
The announcement comes against the backdrop of earlier press statements indicating that Kedahge Rhakho had been removed from his position in the FGN.
A June 17 statement informed that the Tatar Hoho (Parliament) of the Naga National Council/Federal Government of Nagaland (NNC/FGN) had impeached and removed Gen. (Retd) Rhakho from the office of Kedahge with immediate effect following an emergency session on June 16.
A day later, another statement announced the election of Chaplee Kilonser Akavi Chishi as the new president of the NNC/FGN.
However, the FGN, in a rejoinder to the June 17 statement, termed the impeachment “illegitimately orchestrated” and stated that it lacked conformity with the Yehzabo (FGN Constitution).
It also reaffirmed its trust in the leadership of Gen. (Retd) Rhakho.
