FGN denies hand in Kohima shooting

Dimapur, August 14 (MExN): The NNC/FGN today declared that it was not involved in any way in the firing incident which occurred in Kohima on August 13 last. A press release received here from the FGN Assistant Secretary, Thehu said the shooting in Kohima by ‘notorious’ NSCN (IMO) group on fleeing persons as reported in the Nagaland dallies on August 14 are not NNC/FGN workers.

“None of the Naga Army or civil from the FGN is collecting tax from shop to shop in Kohima or elsewhere,” said the release.  The release stated that the FGN cadres might receive contributions from well-wishers.  “To receive contributions from well-wishers is a bonafide function to run national Government, the Federal Government of Nagaland,” said the release.
